MHC History
Pastor John and Wendy Galinetti founded Mount Hope
Church starting with a home bible study in 1988. Regular
public service began at Siefert’s Barn located
on Grand Blanc Road. After a few short months, services
were held in the Grand Blanc Parks and Recreation building
(formerly located near the corner of Grand Blanc Road
and Saginaw Ave).
Four years later, our congregation of 300 purchased
53 acres of land at 8363 Embury Road. In 1992, our original
6800 square foot building, which housed our sanctuary
and four classrooms was built. The following year, in
order to better serve the children of our families,
5 more classrooms were added. In 1997, we doubled the
size of our sanctuary and added more classrooms for
our congregation which had grown of over 500 people.
In 2002, a major renovation took place which expanded
the sanctuary to 640 adult seats, added 8100 sq ft of
classroom space for the continually growing children’s
ministry, doubled our youth facility, added our coffee/fellowship
area, added a new main entry with foyer along with appropriate
upgrades to our building’s exterior.
